On January 27, 2012, the Kavkaz Center (KC) website, which is identified with the Caucasus Emirate, published an appeal to its readers to wage a wide-scale campaign to disseminate jihadi videos online. The campaign was to be a response to recent efforts by the Russian security services, the FSB, to eliminate videos uploaded by KC from leading video-sharing websites. To counter this effort, KC appealed to its supporters to upload as many videos from the website as possible, especially to YouTube and Dailymotion, and to share them on social networks, and thus be of service to the mujahideen.

On January 26, 2012, the English-language jihadi blog Ansarullah (www.ansarullah.ws) posted an article on "staying safe while carrying out jihadi work online". The article listed guidelines for proper online conduct, in order to maintain the personal security of online jihad activists in the West and assisst them from getting caught.

Reporter: "This American reconnaissance plane is in the hands of the Iraqi resistance. This state-of-the-art Predator plane fell into the hands of the resistance in Basra, following surveillance activity that led to this achievement."
