Saudi Organization Pushes Polygamy

A charity organization in the Saudi city of Yanbu' in western Saudi Arabia has drawn up a program encouraging men to take a second wife, with the aim of reducing the number of single women in the country

In response, Saudi women's rights activist Wajeha Huwaidar published an article attacking the initiative, stating that the large number of single women in Saudi Arabia is due to the lack of opportunities for men and women to mingle, and also because girls' affairs are run by their fathers or brothers.
