Syrian Ambassador to Washington Dr. 'Imad Mustafa has said that the U.S. government is deeply embarrassed following the attack in Syria, and that many in the U.S. are amazed at the unwarranted aggression.
He said that the U.S. administration was working on a more convincing explanation for the attack, because no sensible person could believe the first version.
Judicial circles in Damascus expressed disappointment at the position of U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, who only expressed sorrow over the civilian deaths in the attack and called for regional cooperation in securing borders, but did not accuse or condemn the aggressor – thus justifying the U.S. operation.
