A high-level source in Hamas has said that Hamas was interested in transferring the task of mediating in the internal Palestinian dialogue from Egypt to Qatar.
He said that Hamas thought that Egypt was too weak to attain a reconciliation, while Qatar had proved its strength by resolving the complex crisis in Lebanon.
In addition, a senior Palestinian Authority official stressed that the PA opposed Hamas representatives' participation in the upcoming November 26 Cairo conference of Arab foreign ministers on the issue of the Palestinian reconciliation dialogue.
