Palestinian sources report that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will not participate in the Arab foreign ministers conference in Cairo, in order to avoid conflict with Arab League secretary-general Amr Moussa and representatives of other states, who according to the sources support Hamas's positions.
Azzam Al-Ahmad, head of the Fatah faction in the Palestinian parliament, added that Abbas preferred not to attend the meeting because Moussa was incapable of keeping his promise to condemn Hamas for thwarting the national dialogue.
