'Chemical Ali' Sentenced To Death

Iraq's supreme criminal court has sentenced to death, for the second time, Ali Hassan Al-Majid, known as "Chemical Ali," and Abd Al-Ghani Abd Al-Ghafur, for their crimes during the repression of 1991 the Shi'ite uprising in Iraq.

The court also handed down prison sentences, of 15 years to life, for numerous former functionaries in Saddam Hussein's regime.
