Iraqi Vice President Tareq Al-Hashemi said in Damascus, following a meeting with Syrian Vice President Farouq Al-Shar', that the U.S.-Iraq security agreement stipulates that every activity by U.S. forces must be approved by Iraqi elements, and that the next six months would be a test for the Americans.
Al-Hashemi's statements came against the backdrop of tension between Syria and Iraq following the U.S. attack in October on the Syrian village of Al-Sukkariya, which was launched from Iraqi territory.
