In response to the Israeli offensive in Gaza, the London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat harshly criticized Hamas, saying that it trades in Palestinian blood, just like Hizbullah, and decides when to maintain a hudna and when to attack – with the entire Arab world dancing to its tune.
The daily's editor, Tariq Alhomayed, called on the world to let Hamas bear the consequences of its decisions, for once, and not to let Israel's crimes cloud its awareness of Hamas' actions.
