Iranian Official: Hizbullah, Iran Won't Clash With Israel

At a January 4 press conference at the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, Supreme National Security Council secretary Saeed Jalili rejected the possibility that Iran and Hizbullah would clash militarily with Israel following the Gaza events.

He said that the Palestinian people in Gaza was well capable of defending itself, and that what was needed was the removal of the siege and a halt to the aggression.

In a speech at the tomb of 'Imad Mughniya in Lebanon, Jalili said that it was clear to everyone that the resistance and victory were one, and that shahids like 'Imad Mughniya had proved that the path to victory was via resistance.
