Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan stated in an interview with Turkish television that Israel's adventure in Gaza had cut off indirect Syria-Israel negotiations just before their transition to the direct phase.
He said that if an understanding had been attained regarding a single word that remained in dispute before the next round of talks, the negotiations would have moved into a "completely new phase."
