Iraqi Election Results: Al-Maliki's Wins Most Provinces

Supreme Iraqi Election Board sources have said that after 90% of votes were counted, it was clear that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki's Law and Order list had taken nine of 14 provinces, including Baghdad, Basra, and Najaf, and that in the other five provinces other lists won.

Al-Maliki visited jurisprudent Ali Sistani to update him regarding the election results, and thanked him for his call to citizens to vote and for not expressing support for a particular list.

It was reported that official elements will recount the votes in Al-Anbar province, and will hold trials for those responsible for falsifying the results.
