Unknown individuals yesterday assassinated a senior official of the Iraqi Islamic Party.
The Iraqi Islamic party, which is Sunni, is headed by Iraqi Vice President Tareq Al-Hashemi.
In response, the party called on the government to put an end to the armed ethnic militias.
