According to the London daily Al-Quds Al-'Arabi, a Syrian press source has criticized the Egyptian Foreign Minister for saying that the Arabs must soften their position vis-à-vis Israel, arguing that it is Israel that must be more flexible.
The Egyptian daily Al-Misriyoun reports that Syria has demanded of Egypt, via a third Arab party, to remove the Syrian oppositionist TV channel Zanoubia from the Egyptian satellite network Nilesat, on the grounds that Zanoubia airs contents that harm President Assad.
The Syrians warned that a failure to comply with this demand would damage Syrian-Egyptian relations.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry responded by stating, "with all due respect and esteem for [our] sister, Syria," the Syrian regime has no authority to interfere with the operation of a commercial satellite network.
