Syria Expecting Visit by "Prominent Arab Leader"

According to the Saudi daily Al-Watan, Syria is preparing for a visit by "a prominent Arab leader."

It should be noted that rumors have been circulating in the Arab press regarding a possible visit of Saudi King 'Abdallah to Damascus.

The Lebanese daily Al-Safir reports that, on June 25, 2009, a Saudi envoy visited Damascus to discuss the new Al-Hariri government in Lebanon, and that he was the second Saudi official to visit Syria within a two-day period.
