In a June 27, 2009 press conference, Ghazi Salah Al-Din, a senior advisor to the Sudanese president, confirmed that the convoy of trucks bombed six months ago in eastern Sudan was carrying Iranian weapons intended for Hamas.
He assessed that Israel had been behind the attack on the convoy, but stated that Sudan had no means to confirm exactly how it was carried out.
