Senior Iraqi M.P. Accuses Saudi Arabia of Supporting Terrorism in Iraq

Hadi Al-Ameri, the Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee of the Iraqi parliament accused Saudi Arabia of leading regional and Arab countries that do not wish to see the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from Iraqi cities (scheduled for June 30).

He said that Saudi Arabia is responsible for the recent explosions in Iraq and it should take a stand against them. Al-Ameri claims that the explosions were carried out with financing from outside the country and that the perpetrators are elements of Al-Qaeda and the Ba’th Party.

Al-Ameri demanded a firm position against those countries that support terrorism, indicating that the fatwas (religious edits) issued recently in Saudi Arabia by Saudi clerics which declare the Shi’a as apostates were responsible for making them the target of violence.
