Syrian President Sets Minimum Prison Sentence For Family Honor Murders

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad has issued an order setting a minimum prison sentence of two years for murder for violations of family honor.

He abolished Section 548 of the penal code, which exempts anyone committing such a murder from punishment.
