Days before he completes his 10-month prison sentence for throwing his shoes at President George W. Bush in Baghdad last November, Iraqi journalist Muntadher Al-Zaidi is anticipating financial and other awards from Arab leaders and businessmen.
Al-Zaidi's brother said that the Emir of Qatar will award him a golden horse, and Libyan leader Mu'ammar Al-Qaddafi will give him an honorary medal. Arab businessmen in the Gulf have promised him an apartment, a car, and cash.
His six-year old nephew has written a poem called "Long Live the Shoe." His family has been receiving phone calls from fathers offering their daughters in matrimony.
