Egypt has transferred to the representatives of the Palestinian factions the text of the Palestinian reconciliation agreement, and has proposed that Fatah and Hamas sign it separately on October 15 but that the signing ceremony be held after the 'Eid Al-Adha holiday, in late November.
A senior Fatah official said that Fatah had accepted the document, and that Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad would depart for Egypt to approve it.
Senior Hamas official Salah Al-Bardawil said that all the factions had accepted the document, but that his movement was considering delaying the signing until there was a possibility that the Goldstone Report would be voted on in the U.N. and that things would calm down – which could take days or weeks.
