U.S. Attempts To Mediate Between Parties In Sudan Gov't
U.S. Envoy to Sudan Scott Gration has arrived in Sudan to attempt to resolve the acute political crisis between the National Congress and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM).
Yesterday, Gration met with presidential advisor Ghazi Salah Al-Din, who accused the SPLM of raising obstacles to the implementation of the peace agreement between the sides.
On the other hand, SPLM representatives are boycotting parliamentary and government meetings, because of their anger over the National Congress's intent to pass a low regarding the security apparatuses, to which they are opposed.
On October 31,SPLM leader Salva Kir called on the residents of the south of the country to vote for the south to split from Sudan, in a referendum slated for 2011.
