The Saudi military reports that it has taken control of the Jabel Dukhan area on the Yemeni border, where battles are being waged against Houthi rebels who recently infiltrated the region from Yemen. According to Saudi sources, the rebels were trained and armed with advanced weapons by "foreign elements" (meaning Iran) and also receive assistance from Al-Qaeda. It is also reported that many civilians from both countries have fled from the battle areas into Saudi Arabia, and that the region is emptying of its residents.
