On the periphery of the Chinese-African summit held November 6-9 in Sharm Al-Sheikh, Libyan Foreign Minister Musa Kusa told the London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that the Chinese presence in Africa was a kind of invasion that recalled the era of the imperialists who had colonized the continent and ruined its indigenous societies.
He explained that China was sending slaves into Africa without considering the high unemployment rates there, and that these workers later bought homes and farmsteads, thus colonizing Africa.
