Iranian FM Warns Against Interfering in Yemeni Affairs; Syria Announces Solidarity with Saudi Arabia; Saudi Arabia To Keep Up Air Campaign Against Houthis
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki warned of the consequences of interfering in internal Yemeni affairs, denied accusations that Iran was supporting the Houthi rebels, and accused unnamed Arab satellite television channels of supporting Israel.
Syria [a strategic ally of Iran] condemned the recent violations against the territory and security of Saudi Arabia, and expressed support for the Saudi defense of its sovereignty and of the safety of its territory.
On its part, Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khaled bin Sultan said that the kingdom will not suspend its air campaign against the Houthis until they retreat "dozens of kilometers inside Yemen."
At the same time, the leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Muhammad bin Abd Al-Rahman Al-Rashed, called on the Arab nation to stand against the imminent danger from Iran and from those who belong to its sect [meaning Shi'a Islam]
