In an interview on the eve of his visit today to Saudi Arabia and of his meeting with Saudi King Abdallah, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said that the international community will not wait forever for Iran's answer to the proposal to enrich uranium for civilian purposes, and that Iran must show transparency in its management of its nuclear program.
He expressed willingness to help renew the peace negotiations between Israel and Syria, contingent upon the wishes of the parties involved.
Sarkozy called for a speedy renewal of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority by means of daring initiatives, primarily concerning the settlements, and added that in order to advance peace, it is important that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud 'Abbas remain in the political arena.
