As the verbal soccer attacks between Egypt and Algeria escalate, Algeria has slapped the Egyptian Orascom Telecom company, which operates a cellular phone system in that country, with a claim for back taxes in the amount of $700 million.
Algerian authorities are claiming that the Egyptian company used improper accounting methods to conceal undeclared profits.
The Egyptian company has also announced that it would withdraw its Egyptian employees from Algeria following attacks on 15 of its offices in that country.
