Al-Jarida: Iran Asked Kuwait to Mediate between Iran, Saudi Arabia

Sources in the Kuwaiti government told the Al-Jarida daily that Iran asked Kuwait to act as mediator in settling its disagreements with Saudi Arabia. According to the sources, the Iranian Vice President told the Kuwaiti Prime Minister that his country does not have any problem with Saudi Arabia, and the latter promised to do his utmost to bring representatives of Iran and Saudi Arabia to the table for negotiations. The Iranian Omid website gave a different account of events, according to which it was senior Kuwaiti officials visiting in Tehran who suggested that their country play the role of mediator.
