Iranian Foreign Minister Ahmad Vahidi, who arrived in Damascus last night, has threatened to attack Israel's centers of unconventional weapons, which he says fears being destroyed by Iran.
He said that with the beginning of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq next year, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria will maintain security cooperation.
He said that Saudi Arabia's intervention in Yemen is preparing the ground for an American-Israeli naval base in Bab Al-Mandeb, and that Iran is willing to step up its security ties with Lebanon and the Gulf countries in order to secure the interests of the states in the region.
Regarding his visit to Damascus, he said that Iran and Syria "will discuss ways to develop bilateral defense cooperation... Peace-seeking Islamic countries [must] make efforts to provide peace and security. That is why Iran is ready to improve its relations with all regional countries within a defense policy framework."
