Lebanese President Won't Attend Arab Summit

Lebanese Information Minister Tareq Mitri announced yesterday that Lebanese President Michel Suleiman will not attend the Arab summit in Libya set for the end of the month.

An Egyptian source said that it has not yet been decided whether Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who is recuperating from surgery, will attend, and added that Egypt will continue to act to settle the matter of the attendance of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in order to assure the summit's success.
