According to the online Egyptian paper Al-Yawm Al-Sabi', Iran and Qatar plan in the near future to launch two satellites that would compete with the Egyptian satellite Nilesat and provide services to TV channels such as the Iranian Al-Alam TV, whose broadcasts Nilesat terminated at the behest of the Egyptian government.
