The PLO and Fatah in the Gaza Strip have each distributed a communiqué calling on Gaza residents to conduct Friday prayers in town squares and other open areas instead of in the mosques, so as to avoid the incitement by the Hamas imams in the mosques and out of fear of clashes with Hamas members.
In response, Hamas released a communiqué warning those who respond to Fatah's call, and threatening them, "Your participation in worship with Fatah will cost you dearly... You don’t deserve to be beaten, arrested, or killed because of [this] corrupt group."
