In an unprecedented step, Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir declared, in a June 30 speech, that the town of Khalieb, which is located on the Sudan-Egypt border and is claimed by both countries, is Sudanese and will remain so.
It should be noted that the Sudanese state media did not report Bashir's statements.
