Saudi Arabia, Egypt Oppose Visit By Hamas Leader Mash'al

A senior Hamas official has said that Saudi Arabia and Egypt have flat-out rejected attempts by Hamas political bureau leader Khaled Mash'al to visit Cairo and Riyadh, stipulating that he may visit only if he declares Hamas's willingness to restore the situation in Gaza to what it was prior to June 14, the date of the Hamas takeover.

The official added that for the past two weeks there have been no contacts for coordinating between "internal Hamas" and "external Hamas," due to the unrealistic policy that Hamas leaders in Damascus are insisting upon.
