In a July 25 speech, Hizbullah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah stressed that the party would not allow anyone to harm the dignity of the resistance – the resistance that, he said, had successfully crushed the New Middle East plan in 2006.
Speaking at a ceremony honoring martyrs' children at Shahed Institute in Beirut's southern suburb, Nasrallah first paid tribute to the resistance martyrs, saying: "For 30 years, the martyrs have been the most important symbols of this country. They are the best victory makers of this nation. They protected its dignity and presence… We, as a resistance movement, have offered the most precious [of our sons]..."
He added that the resistance is the most precious thing we have, stressing that "we will not allow anyone in the world – small or large – to hurt its dignity."
He continued, "All plots that threatened Lebanon, Palestine, and the region have been stopped by the Resistance."
