One of the most senior leaders in the Caucasus Emirate has been suspended from his position as the Emirate's information chief. According to the website of Jamaat Shari'a, a Dagestani unit of the Emirate, Movladi Udugov has been temporarily relieved of his duties after a video was posted to an Emirate-affiliated website showing Dokka Umarov, the leader of the Caucasus Emirate, announcing his resignation. The new communiqué explained that the video was solely for internal use and was not meant to be made public, and that Udugov would remain suspended until an inquiry into the affair is completed.
