Hamas militia in Gaza put down a demonstration organized by PFLP leaders to protest against the continued power outages for Gaza residents
Some PFLP leaders were beaten with clubs and rifle butts.
"We condemn the Hamas police crackdown on the protest rally organized by us, which led to the wounding of many of our leaders and members," the PFLP said in a statement.
The statement added that a number of PFLP members were arrested.
The Gaza Strip's sole power plant reopened August 9 after lack of diesel fuel had forced it to shut down two days earlier. The power plant had shut down on August 7 due to a payment dispute between the strip's Hamas rulers and the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, which is responsible for buying the fuel for the plant.
Hamas also prevented the PLO Refugee Department from holding a ceremony for outstanding pupils in Rafah.
The Palestinian Human Rights Center has condemned the continued chaos that follows three explosions in recent days.
