Egypt's Nilesat Channel Won't Stop Broadcasting Iraqi Jihadist Al-Zawraa TV

In an op-ed for the Lebanese English-language Daily Star titled "Al-Zawraa and Egypt's On-Air Ambiguity," Lawrence Pintak, who is the director of Adham Center for Electronic Journalism at the American University in Cairo and a veteran journalist, wrote about the Egyptian government satellite channel Nilesat's broadcasting of the Iraqi jihadist satellite television station Al-Zawraa. According to Pintak, both the U.S. and Iraqi insurgents are pressuring Egypt to stop the broadcasts, but Egypt is refusing to do so. He also points out that this "is also another example of the emerging Cold War between Iran and Sunni Arab powers in the region."
