Syrian Sources: Request To Restrict Flow Of Iraqi Refugees To Syria Came From Iraq

The London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat has reported that the decision to require Iraqi refugees to obtain entry visas when they come to Syria was agreed to by the Iraqi government, in discussions during Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki's visit to Syria in August of this year.

Syrian sources said that the request to restrict the flow of Iraqi refugees to Syria had come from senior Iraqi officials.
