The Canada-based Middle East Christian Association, several of whose members in Egypt were recently arrested (see "Egypt Arrests Two Activists From Middle East Christian Association"), has announced that it is halting its activities in Egypt.
The announcement said that the organization intended to send a letter to the U.N. and to all human rights organizations and democratic governments worldwide, explaining its decision.
It added that the organization was being subjected to government terrorism and had funding problems that made it difficult to continue its activity.
