In Sudan, Egyptians Selling Controversial Books Sentenced To Prison

A Khartoum criminal court yesterday, December 16, sentenced two Egyptian nationals to six months in prison for harming the religion by marketing books at the Khartoum book fair condemning 'Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad.

A Sudanese man who held the book fair at which the books were sold, and a Sudanese woman from the Sudanese Culture Ministry who was in charge of the fair, were both acquitted.
