Sudanese Gov't: U.N. Behind Bloodshed In Chad

Sudanese presidential political advisor Musafa Othman Isma'il has said that the U.N. Security Council is responsible for the bloodshed in Chad because of its resolution to support the regime of Chad President Idris Debi.

Sudanese Ambassador to the U.N. Abd Al-Muhammad Abd Al-Halim attacked U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, in response to the latter's accusations against the Sudanese government over recent events in Darfur in which over 200 people were killed

Abd Al-Halim said that Ki-Moon was applying a double standard, and called his statements against the Sudanese government "condemnable and risible."

He said that when the Chad government attacked the rebels, the Security Council supported it, but it condemned the Sudanese government that is fighting rebels in Darfur.
