Arab League Secretary Amr Moussa sent a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon with the Arab League's request to stop Israel from being a member in the U.N. Security Council.
The move came following a resolution by the Arab foreign ministers' meeting on March 5 in Cairo.
Moussa noted that the Arab League had launched a campaign aimed at stopping Israel from becoming a member of major U.N. councils so as to strip it of influence in resolutions by the international community.
