On March 24, 2008, Islamist websites, including Al-Ikhlas, posted an Al-Sahab audio message by Ayman Al-Zawahiri, titled "Go Forth and Help Our People in Gaza."
In the message, Al-Zawahiri urges the Muslims around the world to assist the Palestinians in Gaza not with demonstrations but with actions. He says: "Attack the interests of the Jews and the Americans, and of everyone who participates in the aggression against the Muslims. [Choose your] targets, collect funds, obtain ammunition, plan [the operation] carefully, and then carry it out while trusting in Allah and wishing for martyrdom and Paradise."
Al-Zawahiri ends his message with a warning to the Americans, saying: "They should know that every dollar they spend on killing Muslims will be [paid back in] blood... They cannot insult... our Prophet and support Israel, and then [continue] living safely in their lands..."
