The Taliban in Afghanistan have said they will launch a spring operation called ‘‘Lesson’’ against the U.S. and allied troops deployed in Afghanistan.
The Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Jasarat quoted Taliban commander Mullah Brather as saying, ‘‘We will teach the allied troops a lesson and force them to leave Afghanistan.’’
According to the report, Mullah Brather appealed to the Afghan people ‘‘to participate in this jihad against the Karzai government and the foreigners.’’
