The public prosecutor in Tiaret, in western Algeria, has demanded a three-year prison sentence for Habiba Kouider, 37, a Tiaret resident who converted to Christianity several years ago and who was allegedly found with a dozen copies of the New Testament.
Kouider is expected to be sentenced on May 27, along with another six Christians from Tiaret who are accused of missionary activity.
