In an interview in Damascus, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad told the Indian paper The Hindu that the national unity government in Lebanon would mean that the international tribunal for the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Al-Hariri would "work professionally and not in a politicized way" because there would be "consensus in Lebanon about certain issues."
He also said that he might visit Beirut after the formation of the new Lebanese government and after he discussed the matter with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman.
