Western sources have reported to the London daily Al-Hayat that Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu Al-Gheit is behind the initiative to transfer Shaba'a Farms from Israel to the U.N., and that he presented it during his visit to Washington two months ago.
According to the report, the initiative was aimed at promoting the attainment of stability in Lebanon.
