Iranians, Lebanese Criticize Rice's Lebanon Visit

According to the Iranian daily Jomhouri-e Eslami, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit to Lebanon is aimed at influencing the formation of the next government.

The Iranian foreign ministry organ Tehran Times stated that the aim of the visit was to ground the Doha agreement.

The deputy head of the Supreme Islamic Shi'ite Council in Lebanon, Sheikh Abd Al-Amir Qablan, said that Rice's visit is "the queen of ghosts' infiltration" of the country for the purposes of briefing U.S. supporters and aides, and for creating anarchy in Lebanon. He added that the creation of anarchy is also a reason for Rice's visit to Pakistan and Iraq.
