Arab League Criticizes Al-Bashir Prosecution

Arab League Secretary-General 'Amr Moussa expressed reservations about the ICC prosecution of Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir, saying, "We are not sure that the ICC's move was carefully considered."

At a July 16, 2008 press conference in Cairo, Moussa said that the crisis surrounding the prosecution could have severe repercussions for the Arab states unless it was peacefully resolved.

Moussa is slated to visit Khartoum on July 20 to discuss the crisis with the Sudanese government.
