A senior Iraqi security official has said that Iran is paying monthly wages of some $2400 to each member of an organization in Iraq's Diyala province called the "Special Groups," most of whose members were recruited from supporters of the Mahdi Army.
The official expressed sadness that foreign countries were acting to sow anarchy in Iraq.
