During the founding meeting of the Diaspora Maronite Institute, Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutrous Saffir warned about emigration from Lebanon, saying that it was threatening the Christian-Muslim balance in the country.
He said that the goal of the new institute was to connect Maronite Lebanese émigrés to their homeland.
He also criticized the fact that Lebanese citizenship is stripped from many emigrants.
